SUSTAINABILITY IS PROFITABLE
The business case for certified sustainable events
A certificate isn’t just a badge. It changes how sponsors budget, how attendees choose, and how your team makes decisions about every future edition.
Sponsor negotiating power
Corporate sponsors increasingly allocate sustainability budgets separately from event sponsorship. A verified certificate opens a second conversation, and a second budget line.
Ticket price premium
Studies show attendees are willing to pay a meaningful premium for events with verified sustainability credentials, especially in B2B and professional conference segments.
Cost reduction potential
Measuring energy, waste, and catering doesn’t just improve your score; it surfaces operational inefficiencies. Most certified events find savings that outweigh certification costs within one edition.
One Platform. Multiple Solutions.
Planet Positive Event is more than a sustainability assessment platform. From international sports federations to sustainable mobility, our growing ecosystem helps organisations measure, improve and communicate sustainability in ways that fit their specific needs.
Planet Positive Sport
Built on the Planet Positive Event platform and trusted by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), Planet Positive Sport adapts our proven methodology to the unique requirements of sporting events and organisations.
Planet Positive Ride
Mobility is often the largest contributor to an event’s carbon footprint. Planet Positive Ride helps attendees share rides, reduce transport emissions and provides measurable mobility data that feeds directly into your sustainability assessment.
IN THE FIELD

FROM EVENT ORGANIZERS
What organizers say after their first certification
COMMON QUESTIONS
Things organizers ask before they start
Do I need a sustainability background to use this?
Not at all. If you know your event, venue, attendee numbers, transport options, and catering, you have everything the platform needs. It guides you question by question and calculates the technical parts automatically.
How long does the full process take?
It depends on the size and complexity of the event. Most organizers complete the self-assessment in 2–6 hours spread over a few sessions, if they have all the data necessary. The independent assessment typically takes 3–5 business days.
What if my score isn't great the first time?
That’s exactly the point. A first certification gives you a baseline and tailored recommendations that you can implement immediately in your next event or edition. By doing the self-assessment and gathering the data, you learn how to implement more sustainable practices in organizing any event.
How do I choose the package?
The package is determined by the complexity of the event. Smaller events, such as internal workshops, may only require the basic package covering the four mandatory segments: Mobility, Project Management, Venue, and Regenerative Effects. More complex events require additional segments to be measured.
