Sustainability Platform for Sports Events & Federations
Planet Positive Sport helps federations, leagues, clubs, and sporting event organisers measure, improve, and report sustainability performance through a practical digital platform based on the Planet Positive Event methodology.
What is Planet Positive Sport?
Planet Positive Sport is a joint initiative developed by Planet Positive Event and Sport Media Focus, combining sustainability expertise with international sports industry experience.
Built on the Planet Positive Event methodology, PPS enables sports organisations to:
- assess sustainability performance,
- calculate environmental impact,
- monitor progress,
- generate reports,
- and align events with international sustainability goals.
Working with International Sports Federations
Planet Positive Sport collaborates with sports federations and event organisers to pilot, evaluate, and improve sustainability practices across competitions and events.
The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) partnered with Planet Positive Sport on pilot sustainability reporting for Volleyball Nations League (VNL) events in 2025. In 2026, FIVB continued and broadened the collaboration.
Expanding Global Collaboration with FIVB
Planet Positive Sport is expanding its collaboration with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) in 2026 to support sustainability assessments across more than 15 international sporting events worldwide.
Following the successful 2025 pilot project, during which sustainability impact assessments were conducted for 6 volleyball events, this year’s collaboration includes:
- Volleyball Nations League tournaments,
- Beach Pro Tour Challenge events,
- Beach Pro Tour Elite events,
- and the VNL Men Finals in China.
The partnership supports event organizers in measuring carbon footprint, analyzing mobility impact, and developing sustainability reporting practices that help identify opportunities for improvement and support more responsible event organization.
With returning organizers and new host destinations joining the program each year, the collaboration reflects a growing commitment to integrating sustainability into the future of international sports events.
