1. Create Your Project
Everything starts by creating your event within the Planet Positive Event platform.
You’ll enter the basic event information, such as the event type, location, dates and expected attendance. Based on your event, the platform automatically prepares the appropriate sustainability assessment, ensuring you’re measuring what matters most.
2. Complete Your Assessment
Using our online platform, you’ll complete the assessment by providing information across the selected sustainability categories.
Depending on your event, this may include mobility, venue operations, energy, catering, procurement, waste management, accommodation, communication and social responsibility. Throughout the process, you can upload supporting documentation wherever additional evidence is required.
The platform allows you to complete the assessment at your own pace, saving your progress as you go.
3. Submit for Review
Once you’ve completed all required sections, simply submit your assessment.
At this stage, the project moves from your workspace to our independent assessment process, where it is reviewed by one of our certified external assessors.
4. Independent Expert Assessment
Every submitted project undergoes an independent review to ensure the assessment is complete, accurate and based on reliable information.
Our external assessors carefully verify the submitted data and supporting documentation against the Planet Positive Event methodology. If any information requires clarification, they’ll contact you directly with questions or request additional evidence before the assessment can be finalised.
This independent verification is what sets Planet Positive Event apart, providing organisers, sponsors and stakeholders with confidence that the reported results have been reviewed by an impartial sustainability expert.
5. Final Approval & Reporting
Once the independent assessor confirms that all requirements have been met, the project is officially approved and the assessment is complete.
You’ll then receive your Planet Positive Event Report—a comprehensive overview of your event’s sustainability performance. The report includes carbon footprint calculations, sustainability scores across assessed categories, key findings and tailored recommendations to help improve future editions of your event.
Where applicable, certification is also issued, providing independent verification of your event’s sustainability performance.
More than just a summary of results, the report serves as a valuable communication tool that can be shared with sponsors, clients, stakeholders and participants to demonstrate your commitment to measurable sustainability.
