A practical framework for sustainable event evaluation

The Planet Positive Event Methodology evaluates events through a structured set of sustainability criteria designed specifically for live events. The framework helps organizers assess how their event performs across environmental, social, operational, and governance areas, while also identifying opportunities for long-term positive impact.

As part of the methodology, organizers complete a guided self-assessment, which includes a carbon footprint calculation using the PPE platform.

Mandatory and adaptive criteria

Four criteria categories are mandatory within every PPE assessment:

MOBILITY
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
EVENT VENUE
REGENERATIVE EFFECTS

The remaining criteria are adapted depending on the type of event, event size, operational complexity, and sustainability goals. This allows the methodology to remain both structured and flexible, applicable to conferences, exhibitions, festivals, corporate events, and sports events of different scales.

Beyond operational sustainability

The PPE Methodology measures more than environmental impact alone.
